Katung (Michael) Chu

Katung (Michael) Chu has extensive experience in software build/release and configuration management. Katung (Michael) has worked in various positions at different companies, starting with their role as a Software Build/Release Engineer at Cadence Design Systems from 1996 to 1998. Katung (Michael) then became a Sr. Software Development Engineer at Cadence Design Systems from 1998 to 2006, followed by a role as a Sr. Software Build/Release Engineer from 2006 to 2011.

In 2011, Katung joined Cisco as a Software Build/Release Engineer/PM and Nexant as a Sr. Build/Release Engineer, Architect/QA Manager. At Cisco, they worked from March 2011 to December 2011, and at Nexant, they worked from December 2011 to April 2016. Katung (Michael)'sresponsibilities at Nexant included overseeing and coordinating all release/deployment activities, managing the Continuous Integration (CI)/Continuous Delivery (CD) pipeline, troubleshooting build/test issues, and managing a QA team.

After Nexant, Katung worked at E*TRADE as a Principal Build/Release and Configuration Engineer from April 2016 to January 2017. Katung (Michael) was involved in several key projects such as the company-wide test automation framework project, the blue/green deployment project, and the backend services modernization project.

Currently, Katung is working at Sunverge Energy, Inc. as a Senior Build/Release (DevOps) Manager. In this role, they are responsible for managing day-to-day build/release activities, continuous integration, and cloud application environment support/operation. Katung (Michael) collaborates with cross-functional teams to enhance software development and testing workflows, as well as build/release management processes. Katung also oversees and coordinates all release/deployment activities to ensure timely and quality releases.

Katung (Michael) Chu holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
