Clare Hyre

Clare Hyre is an experienced professional in sustainability and food justice, currently serving as the Associate Director of Sustainability at Swarthmore College since July 2020. Prior to this role, Clare held positions at Teens for Food Justice, advancing from Program Manager to Senior Program Manager from July 2017 to June 2020. Additional experience includes a role as a Research Assistant at Edible Schoolyard NYC in April 2017, and serving as GreenThumb Communications Coordinator at the NYC Department of Parks & Recreation from May 2015 to June 2016. Clare has also managed various educational and farming initiatives through positions at organizations such as Farm to City, Federation of Neighborhood Centers, Weavers Way Co-op, and Bartram's Garden. Clare's educational background includes a Master of Arts in Food Studies from New York University and a Bachelor of Arts in Peace and Conflict Studies and Religious Studies from Guilford College, supplemented by study at the University of Cape Coast.
