Alex Porter

Alex Porter is a highly experienced scientist in the field of computational chemistry, currently serving as Principal Scientist I in Digital Chemical Design at Syngenta since April 2023, where responsibilities include supporting the digitization of chemical design through generative chemistry and predictive modeling. Prior roles at Syngenta include leading the development of a next-generation predictive modeling platform and serving as a postdoctoral researcher, organizing global user group meetings, and enhancing efficiency through Python workflows. Additionally, Alex founded Aplox Coaching, providing high-performance and esports coaching from July 2018 to January 2025, and worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Bath from January 2020 to July 2022. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry and a Master’s degree in Chemistry, both from the University of Bath.
