Lamia Hassan ACII, DLHI, CIPA has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles in the insurance and financial services industry. Lamia began their career at PricewaterhouseCoopers in 2001 as an Assistant Manager in Transaction Services, where they worked until 2008. In 2008, Lamia joined Takaful International as a Senior Manager in Corporate Control, and later held the positions of Chief Compliance Officer and Chief Underwriting Officer - Motor. Lamia also served as a Member of the Board at Invita Claims Management Company B.S.C. (C) in 2018. Their expertise lies in underwriting, compliance, corporate control, and transaction services.
Lamia Hassan has a comprehensive education history in the fields of insurance and accounting. In 1996, they began their studies at the University of Bahrain, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting in 2000. Lamia then pursued further education at the Goizueta Business School of Emory University, where they obtained an Executive Level MBA in 2006.
Their focus on insurance started in 2007 when they completed a Diploma in Islamic Accounting from AAOIFI. The following year, they enrolled in the Bahrain Institute of Banking & Finance, earning a Diploma in Insurance in 2009. Lamia further expanded their knowledge in insurance by completing a Diploma in Life & Health Insurance from LOMA in 2011.
In 2010 and 2011, Lamia studied at the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance, achieving an Advanced Diploma in Insurance. Lamia completed their insurance education with an Associate of Chartered Institute of Insurance (ACII) from the Chartered Institute of Insurance in 2012.

Takaful International Company B.S.C. is the first Islamic Insurance Company in Bahrain. It was established in 1989.
