Kyra D. Gaunt

Kyra D. Gaunt, PhD, is an accomplished digital ethnomusicologist and prize-winning author, currently serving as an experienced Assistant Professor at the University at Albany, SUNY, since July 2017. In addition to academic roles at institutions like Hunter College, Baruch College, and NYU, Kyra has been a Senior TED Fellow since 2020 and was part of the inaugural TED Fellows program in 2009, which supports transformative innovators globally. Furthermore, Kyra is involved with Influence Ecology as a member and student, pursuing advanced competencies in transactional influence. Kyra's educational credentials include a Ph.D. in Musicology and Ethnomusicology from the University of Michigan and several degrees in music performance.
