John Kimpel

John Kimpel is an accomplished technology executive with extensive experience in software engineering and product realization. Currently serving as Vice President of Product Realization Engineering at Tektronix since August 2018, John has successfully transitioned development teams to an agile model. Prior to Tektronix, John held the position of Senior Director of Software at GE Power, where significant contributions included generating $500 million in orders and managing a $13 million software engineering budget. John's career began at GE Oil & Gas, where various roles spanned from Director of Software for Inspection Technologies to Test Software Engineer, showcasing a progression of responsibilities and leadership in software development. John earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Utah State University and an MBA from the University of Phoenix Reno.
