Russell Newman

Russell Newman is a seasoned engineer with a robust background in mechanical design and aerospace engineering. Currently serving as a Senior Design Engineer at Terraform Industries since February 2024, Russell previously held multiple engineering roles at ABL Space Systems from March 2021 to December 2023, where responsibilities included propulsion component design and hardware development. At Ampaire, from September 2017 to February 2021, Russell was the Lead Engineer for Vehicle Engineering, leading mechanical design and FAA certification for hybrid-electric aircraft, notably executing the first flights of an experimental aircraft. Prior experiences include significant roles in test engineering at Virgin Orbit and Space Exploration Technologies, contributing to the design and testing of aerospace systems. Russell's educational foundation includes a BA in Mechanical Engineering from Caltech and an AS in Engineering and Mathematics from Santa Ana College.
