Aaron Cordes is a highly experienced metrology engineer with a strong background in semiconductor and materials science. Currently serving as a Staff Metrology Engineer at Tesla, Aaron leads the metrology engineering team for electrode manufacturing at GigaFactory Texas, managing the installation and qualification of new metrology systems across multiple manufacturing lines. Previous roles include Senior Process Engineer and Senior Metrology Engineer at Crystal IS, where responsibilities encompassed substrate processing, metrology, and process development for wafer production. As a Principal Engineer at GLOBALFOUNDRIES, Aaron developed advanced measurements for atomic force microscopy and contributed to 7nm node chip development. Earlier experience includes roles at the Research Foundation of SUNY and Sematech, focusing on measurement development and defect characterization. Aaron Cordes holds a PhD in Nanoscale Science & Engineering from SUNY Polytechnic Institute, alongside advanced degrees in Applied Physics and Physics from The University of Texas at Austin.

Tesla also installs and maintains energy systems and sells solar electricity; and offers end-to-end clean energy products, including generation, storage, and consumption. Tesla believes the faster the world stops relying on fossil fuels and moves towards a zero-emission future, the better. Additionally, they market and sell vehicles to consumers through a network of company owned stores and galleries. Tesla operates as two segments: one focused on automotive which includes its Model 3, Model Y, Model S, and Model X vehicles, and the second on energy generation and storage which includes Powerwall and Megapack lithium-ion batteries. Today, Tesla is led by Elon Musk, however, other notable founders of the company are Martin Eberhard, JB Straubel, Marc Tarpenning, and Ian Wright. The company has manufacturing facilities in the US, Germany and China and has operations across Asia Pacific and Europe. Tesla is headquartered in Austin, Texas.
