Assistant Professor of Nursing College of Nursing at Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi

At 35, Dixie Andelman enrolled in Del Mar College and obtained her Associate Degree, and became a Registered Nurse in 2001, for the following 8 years she worked with the following hospital patients; medical-surgical unit, post-acute care unit (post-surgery), and emergency department. While working in the Emergency Department she enrolled in Texas A & M Corpus Christi to obtain her MSN degree in the Family Nurse

Practitioner(FNP) program, graduating in 2009. As an FNP, she worked for 3 years in an FQHC in Kingsville Texas with an underserved population. she found this to be a very needed and rewarding experience. she obtained her Doctor of Nursing Practice(DNP) from Frontier Nursing University in 2013. In 2014 she became adjunct clinical faculty for the FNP program and loved it. she have also worked as an FNP full-time in Urgent Care and has worked part-time in the endocrinology specialty since 2015. Dr. Andelman receiving her Board Certification in Advanced Diabetes Management in 2017. In the summer of 2020, she was hired full-time at Texas A&M University as an Assistant Professor working in the Family Nurse Practitioner program and is the current FNP Clinical Coordinator since 2021.
