The Economist
Jason Palmer is an experienced journalist and scientist with a diverse background in science communication. Currently, Palmer serves as the co-host of The Intelligence podcast at The Economist since January 2019. Prior to this role, Palmer held positions at The Economist as co-editor of The Economist Espresso and as a science and technology correspondent from 2014 to 2018. Palmer was a Knight Science Journalism Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 2013 to 2014 and worked as a science and technology reporter for BBC News from 2008 to 2013. Additional experience includes reporting for New Scientist, serving as a Marie Curie Postdoctoral Fellow at the European Laboratory for Non-linear Spectroscopy, and working as a physicist at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. Palmer holds a PhD in molecular physics from Imperial College London and a BSc in Physics and BA in Mathematics, both with honors, from the University of Florida.
