Yoso Furumoto

Yoso Furumoto is a seasoned journalist with extensive experience in political reporting and defense issues. Since August 2009, Yoso has served as Washington Bureau Chief at The Mainichi Newspapers, holding positions as Deputy Editing Manager and Chief Correspondent at the Prime Minister's Office, while also acting as the Washington Correspondent focusing on defense and U.S. domestic politics. Prior to this role, Yoso worked as a Political Reporter from October 1996 to March 2009, covering key government entities including the Prime Minister's Office, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Liberal Democratic Party. Yoso's academic credentials include a Master’s degree in Political Science from The University of Kansas and a Bachelor’s degree in Literature in English Language from Sophia University.
