Paul McAllister is an experienced editorial assistant and scholar currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Military History at The Ohio State University. Since August 2019, Paul has worked as a Graduate Apprentice at the Ohio State University Press, collaborating with the Editorial Director on a variety of publishing projects. Paul served as Managing Editor for Picturing Black History, focusing on author interviews, writer recruitment, and website management. Experience includes research and teaching roles, such as Graduate Teaching Assistant and Instructor for the Summer Research Opportunities Program, as well as a Colonel Charles Young Fellow at the U.S. Army Center for Military History, researching African-American service units during World War I. Additional roles include a summer internship teaching students at the Scheathness Children's Defense Fund Freedom School and participation in programs focused on African American history research. Paul holds a Master of Arts in History and a Bachelor of Arts in History from North Carolina Central University.
