David Barclay

Advisor, Northern Rockies at The Trust for Public Land

David is a retired portfolio manager, Executive Vice President, member of the Board of Directors and 30 year veteran of Capital Group/American Funds where he was also President of American High Income Trust and Income Fund of America, two large income oriented mutual funds.

David is currently a board member of Landesa, a land rights organization focused on the rural poor in developing countries, a trustee of Rhode Island School of Design, and a board member of Pardee Rand Graduate School, a public policy school. David and his wife Chet are engaged in education and land based philanthropic activities in the Philippines.

David first came to the Northern Rockies in 1975 as a backpacker and is an enthusiastic hiker, backpacker, bicyclist and runner. David and Chet have a home on Little Bitterroot Lake in Northwestern Montana as well as a home in Los Angeles, California. They have two adult sons who also are outdoors enthusiasts. David is a graduate of Brown University and Harvard Business School.
