Kien Nguyen

Kien (Kyle) Nguyen is an experienced IT Business Intelligence Data Analyst I at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke since January 2022, managing SQL databases and handling data requests and integration. Previously, Kien served as a Graduate Research Assistant at The University of Tulsa, focusing on optimization in business problems and developing a vehicle routing model while also acting as a teaching assistant. Kien gained practical experience during a summer internship at Atlas7, where a PowerBI portfolio was built, and a prediction model achieved 93% accuracy using the Random Forest algorithm in Python. Earlier academic work at the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology involved research in Petroleum Engineering, culminating in a thesis on pump design optimization.
