Daniel Nielson

Daniel Nielson is a seasoned academic and research professional with extensive experience in development studies, international relations, and comparative politics. Currently, Daniel serves as a Professor at The University of Texas at Austin and is the Chief Research Officer at Evaluasi, a consulting firm focused on randomized evaluations and evidence-based philanthropy. Previously, Daniel held various positions at Brigham Young University, including Professor and Associate Professor, where responsibilities involved teaching and research in related fields. Notably, Daniel also worked as the Chief Social Scientist at the AidData Center for Development Policy, contributing to research and training in randomized evaluations. Daniel earned a PhD in International Affairs from UC San Diego and a BA in International Relations from Brigham Young University.
