Sarah Medina has worked in the media industry since 2012. Sarah began their career as an Intern at KTVU 2 News, where they helped conduct research for the 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. news. Sarah then served as an Editorial Assistant at The Huffington Post and The Bold Italic. In 2013, they joined 7x7 | Metropolitan Media, Inc. as an Assistant Editor. Sarah was quickly promoted to Managing Editor, where they conceptualized and crafted a minimum of 5 weekly blogs for the site, pitched and wrote monthly stories for print, collaborated with developers on two apps, tracked site numbers through Google Analytics, and performed basic site maintenance in HTML. In 2017, Sarah joined Time Out Group plc as Travel Editor, North America, Global Content Editor, and Editor of Time Out San Francisco. Most recently, they were appointed Editorial Director, Local at Thrillist in 2022.
Sarah Medina obtained their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in History and English Literature from the University of California, Berkeley in 2012. Sarah then went on to pursue a Master of Arts - MA in Cultural Studies/Critical Theory and Analysis from Claremont Graduate University, which they completed in 2022. In addition, they obtained a College Teaching Certificate from Claremont Graduate University in 2022.
