THE POSITION
Toebe Construction is seeking a Brokered Truck Manager to join our team and coordinate brokered trucking operations for highway construction projects across Michigan. This dynamic role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The Brokered Truck Manager will be responsible for scheduling and coordinating brokered trucks, tracking costs and budgets, managing invoices and monthly billings, and ensuring effective communication between trucking vendors and project teams. This position plays a key role in supporting the company’s construction operations and contributing to the overall success of our projects.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Schedule and manage brokered trucks for hauling materials to meet project timelines and goals.
Act as the primary point of contact for brokered truck drivers and vendors, addressing scheduling changes and resolving issues.
Ensure all trucks meet regulatory requirements and adhere to company safety standards.
Maintain accurate records of trucking activities, invoices, and performance metrics for reporting purposes.
Quickly resolve logistical or operational issues to minimize project disruptions.
Build strong vendor relationships and negotiate competitive rates in collaboration with the operations team.
Monitor safety compliance and material handling quality for all brokered trucking operations.
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service quality.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
3-5 years of industry experience or an associate’s degree in a technical or construction-related field or business administration.
Comfortable using basic computer programs and tools.
Ability to perform general accounting, including cost tracking, budget analysis, and invoice management.
Capable of developing and maintaining a weekly trucking schedule.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
Ability to think on your feet and apply effective problem-solving strategies in a fast-paced environment.
Strong phone and communication skills with the ability to effectively coordinate with vendors and project teams.
