HongSoo Kim currently serves as the Head of Data at Viva Republica (Toss) since November 2023, focusing on enhancing competitiveness through data and artificial intelligence technologies. Prior to this role, HongSoo was the VP of Data and Artificial Intelligence at 카카오페이 (KakaoPay) where responsibilities included leading the development of a machine learning and deep learning service platform. Experience also includes serving as the Principal Engineer at BrilliantTS, leading the Blockchain Tech Team to develop a high-performance blockchain network, and working at SK planet on deep learning-based visual search services and scalable push notification systems. Earlier experience at Samsung Electronics involved designing and developing XMPP-based personal cloud systems and solutions for machine-to-machine communication. HongSoo holds a Ph.D. in Distributed System (Grid Computing) from Korea University.
