Dean, The Honors College at Towson University

Alison Rios Millett McCartney currently serves as the Dean of the Honors College at Towson University since July 2024. With a long-standing affiliation with Towson University since August 2001, Alison has held multiple positions including Co-founder of the Towson University-Baltimore County Public Schools Model United Nations, Professor, Faculty Director of the Honors College, and Director of the International Studies program. Additionally, Alison contributed to the American Political Science Association as a co-editor for the book "Teaching Civic Engagement: From Student to Active Citizen." Previous academic experience includes a Visiting Lecturer role at Johns Hopkins University in 2011 and a Visiting Assistant Professor position at Miami University (Ohio) from August 2000 to July 2001. Alison holds a PhD in Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia, an MA in Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia, and a BA in Political Science/History from Syracuse University.
