Joanne Howie is an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience in the insurance and legal sectors. Currently serving as General Counsel at Travelers Europe since September 2022, Joanne previously held the position of Chief Counsel UK and Europe at Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance from June 2019 to July 2022. Prior to that, Joanne was Deputy General Counsel and Head of UK Legal and Compliance at AXA Corporate Solutions from March 2012 to June 2019. Joanne's legal career began at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer as a solicitor after completing a Trainee Solicitor role, followed by a tenure as a Senior Associate at Allens Arthur Robinson. Academically, Joanne completed the Legal Practice Course at BPP Law School and earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from The London School of Economics and Political Science.
