Clay Byers is an Assistant Professor of Engineering at Trinity College-Hartford since July 2018. Previous roles include Graduate Coordinator at Princeton University from September 2013 to June 2018, where responsibilities encompassed designing training for tutors, participating in hiring processes, and providing mentorship. Clay also served as a Graduate Research Assistant, focusing on fluid mechanics research related to turbulent heat transfer. Teaching experience includes instructing a J-term course on Citizen Science at Bard College and a course on Intro to Engineering for high school students at the WEB DuBois Scholars Institute. Prior to academia, Clay managed multimillion-dollar projects in the USAF and worked as a tutor for middle and high school students in mathematics. Clay holds a PhD and MA in Mechanical Engineering from Princeton University and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Washington State University.
