Jun Zhu

Jun Zhu currently serves as Chief Scientist and Co-Founder at ShengShu since March 2023 and holds the position of Director of the Basic Theory Research Center at the Institute for AI at Tsinghua University, a role undertaken since May 2019. Prior experience includes adjunct faculty at Carnegie Mellon University from August 2015 to August 2018 and serving as Deputy Director at the State Key Lab of Intelligent Technology and Systems from September 2014 to August 2018. Jun Zhu's earlier roles at Carnegie Mellon University also encompass Project Scientist from September 2009 to September 2011, Post-Doc Fellow from September 2007 to March 2009, and Visiting Researcher in the Machine Learning Department. An internship at Microsoft Research Asia occurred from November 2004 to July 2007. Jun Zhu obtained a PhD in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University between 2007 and 2011, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Tsinghua University from 2001 to 2005.
