Derek Wang is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in technology and education. As Co-Founder of Taalk since January 2024, Derek focuses on enhancing consumer engagement through privacy-first Conversation AI Agents. Derek serves on the boards of multiple organizations, including CURION, Discovery Place, and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, alongside advisory roles at UNC Charlotte College of Computing and Informatics and as a Board Observer at Kubit since June 2021. Previously, Derek founded Stratifyd, a global startup aimed at providing quick business insights, and held the position of Associate Director at the Charlotte Visualization Center, contributing to interdisciplinary research in visualization and analytics. Derek earned a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a B.Sc. in Engineering from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications.
