Daniel J.

Daniel J. currently serves as the Director for the Middle East, Terrorist Financing, and Financial Crimes at the U.S. Department of the Treasury since August 2022, after previously holding the position of Assistant Director in the same division. Prior experience includes working as a Policy Specialist at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory from April 2017 to August 2022, and as a Next Generation National Security Fellow at the Center for a New American Security in 2020. Daniel J. also held the role of Senior Program Advisor in the Office of Cooperative Threat Reduction at the U.S. Department of State from October 2011 to February 2017, and worked in various capacities at George Washington University and the Center for International Trade and Security. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs and Arabic from The University of Georgia, a Master of Science in Systems Engineering from The George Washington University, and a Master of Arts in International Relations and Contemporary War from King's College London, supplemented by Arabic language studies at Qasid Arabic Institute and the Arabic Language Institute in Fes.
