Gareth Fitzsimmons has over 30 years of work experience in the field of technology architecture and design. Gareth currently works as the Head of Solution Architecture and Design at UBDS, where they are involved in high-profile cloud migrations and provides advisory services on digital security, cloud infrastructure, network solutions, and managed services. Prior to UBDS, Gareth worked as a Technical Director at Loughshore Solutions Ltd, where they provided consultancy on technical strategies and design assurance for complex solutions. Gareth also served as the Lead Solutions Architect at the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), leading the technical delivery team for a critical application migration project. Gareth has a long history with BT, having held various roles including Solutions Architect, Technical Solutions Director, and Winning New Business Consultant. Gareth started their career at BT as a Network Designer in 1991.
Gareth Fitzsimmons completed their education at Glengormley High School from 1980 to 1987. Gareth received a BSc degree in Computer Science and Management Science from The University of Edinburgh between 1987 and 1991. Additionally, they obtained the certification of AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate from Amazon Web Services in October 2020.
