Tenbit E. has a strong background in the healthcare industry. Tenbit started their career at HealthPartners in 2013 as a Medical Director, where they worked until 2016. Afterward, they joined Hennepin Healthcare as the Chief of the Department of Neurology from 2016 to 2022. Currently, they hold the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer at UCare, starting in August 2022.

Tenbit E. completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in 1999 from the University of Minnesota. Tenbit then pursued a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the University of Minnesota Medical School, specializing in Medicine. Tenbit also obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Psychology with a focus on Personality Research from the same university. Later, they completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in Executive Management from Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management in 2020.

In terms of certifications, Tenbit obtained a Certificate in the Program for Chairs of Clinical Services from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in 2018. Tenbit is also Board Certified in Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Inc., as well as a Board Certified Neurointensivist and a Board Certified Clinical Neurophysiologist by the United Council for Neurological Subspecialties and the AMERICAN BOARD OF CLINICAL NEUROPHYSIOLOGY INC, respectively. Additionally, Tenbit holds a Full Unrestricted Medical License from the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice.
