Debbie's passion for football developed while following her amateur referee father to matches. She is committed to ensuring good governance, transparency and collaboration to safeguard the game's future.

Hewitt is an experienced and successful businesswoman, first in retail management, then as a group managing director in the automobile industry. She is currently the non-executive chair of Visa Europe, price comparison website comparethemarket.com and lifestyle clothing company White Stuff. She holds an honorary doctorate in business administration and was awarded an MBE in 2011 for services to business and the public sector.
