David Stone is a highly experienced data scientist and computational expert with a focus on genomic data analysis and machine learning. Currently serving as a Senior Staff Data Scientist at Ultima Genomics since January 2022, David previously held senior roles at Trace Genomics from May 2016 to January 2022, where contributions included leading teams for metagenomic data analysis, implementing bioinformatics prototypes, and optimizing data processes. Prior experience encompasses a postdoctoral research position in quantum field theory, a fellowship at Insight Data Science where a transportation prediction tool was developed, and extensive academic experience at UC San Diego, culminating in a Ph.D. in Elementary Particle Physics. David's expertise spans predictive analytics, bioinformatics, and computational methodologies, underpinned by a strong academic background in physics.
