Kamal Naim is an accomplished information technology leader with extensive experience in ICT management within various United Nations entities. Currently serving as Acting Chief Information Officer at the UN Environment Programme since May 2022, Kamal provides technical and policy guidance on systems development and oversees the design and implementation of ICT initiatives aligned with UNEP’s Digital Transformation strategy. Previously, as Head of ICT at UN-Habitat, Kamal coordinated ICT strategy development, managed substantial projects, and directed information security management. Earlier roles include Network Security Manager at the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda and IT Manager with United Nations Peacekeeping, where Kamal successfully managed large-scale ICT operations. Educational qualifications include an MBA and a Graduate Certificate in Cyber Security, complemented by a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.
