Vera El Khoury Lacoeuilhe has served at UNESCO since February 1995, currently holding the position of President of the Executive Board and representing Saint Lucia as a diplomat. Throughout a distinguished career at UNESCO, Vera has held several key roles including Vice-Chairperson for Group III and has been a member of the Executive Board multiple times. In addition to responsibilities within UNESCO, Vera has undertaken leadership positions in various international forums, contributed to significant negotiations such as those related to cultural heritage, and served as a visiting lecturer at Sciences Po Paris and a lecturer at Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. Having advised the Government of Lebanon and participated in the Independent Team of Advisors for ECOSOC, Vera's expertise spans international law and cultural policy, underpinned by advanced degrees from New York University and the American University of Beirut.
