Ruot Gatwech

Ruot Gatwech is a dedicated professional with extensive experience in humanitarian aid and mental health support. Currently serving as a Senior Programme Assistant at UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, since June 2023, Ruot has previously held roles as Counselling Supervisor and Counselor at the Center for Victims of Torture from October 2020 to June 2023, providing psychosocial support to trauma-affected clients. Prior experience includes positions as a Psychologist with Médecins Sans Frontières, Protection Team Leader at the Danish Refugee Council, and Child Protection Officer with Save the Children International. Ruot holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Mettu University, and Master of Arts degrees in Project Planning and Management from Gambella University, and International Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid from KALU Institute, scheduled for completion in June 2025.
