Ana Maria Currea is a seasoned professional in communications and stakeholder engagement, currently serving as the Senior Stakeholder Engagement Manager at the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) since February 2024. Previously, Ana held various leadership roles at UNDP from October 2009 to February 2024, including Global Communications Lead for the Environmental Funds Hub and Head of Communications for the Regional Bureau for Latin America and the Caribbean. With a strong focus on knowledge management, Ana has successfully led global communication initiatives for programmes supporting sustainable development in over 125 countries. Ana's earlier experience includes consulting for UNICEF, conducting pivotal research on child exploitation in Brazil, and serving as a diplomat for the Embassy of Colombia in the United States. Ana holds a Master's degree in Public Administration from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs and a Bachelor's degree in Communication from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana.
