Alain Hehn

Vice President, Scientific Council at Universite de Lorraine

Alain Hehn is the Vice President of the Scientific Council and a Professor at Université de Lorraine, where responsibilities include founding the Bio4Solutions Chair, aimed at promoting agro-ecological transitions and developing biosolutions in agronomy. Research focuses on the production of plant biomolecules, particularly specialized metabolites, utilizing molecular biology, phytochemistry, and metabolic engineering. Alain also serves as the Director of the Agronomy, Food Science and Forest scientific department, coordinating seven research teams and collaborating with INRAE. Previous positions include Associate Professor at INPL-ENSAIA-LAE and Maître de conférences at Institut National Polytechnique de Lorraine, along with earlier roles as an engineer at IBMP and postdoctoral scientist at MPIPZ and the University of Strasbourg. Alain obtained a PhD in Plant Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Strasbourg.
