Maree Jones

Maree Jones is a seasoned professional in social media strategy and public relations, currently serving as the Director of Social Media Strategy at the University of Alabama at Birmingham since July 2022. In this role, Maree leads the university's main social channels, amplifying the stories and impact of Alabama's largest employer. As a keynote speaker, Maree has delivered engaging presentations on PR, social media, and personal branding since 2010. Previous positions include overseeing PR, communications, and social media at Firefly, managing a social media team at The Community Company, and developing content strategies at Luckie & Company. Maree began the career as an Advertising Consultant and Social Media Manager at Birmingham Parent Magazine and previously worked in education as a Communications, Drama, and Social Studies Educator. Maree holds a BFA in Theatre/Pre-Law from Samford University.
