Aida Ghiaei

Aida Ghiaei has extensive experience in STEM education and research, currently serving as Director at the University of Connecticut since June 2010, where responsibilities include designing and implementing educational outreach programs, fostering partnerships with educational entities, mentoring students, and managing several NSF programs. Prior roles include Project Coordinator at NYU Cancer Institute, overseeing protocol reviews for clinical studies, Lab Manager at Mount Sinai School of Medicine with a focus on IRB, grants, and contracts administration, Research Scientist at Schering-Plough Corporation conducting advanced experimental techniques, and Research Graduate Assistant at the University of Connecticut, where Ghiaei developed a patented detection assay for Lyme disease. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Cell Biology from the University of Connecticut and a Bachelor of Science in Clinical Science from San Francisco State University.
