Carsten Kirkeby is a distinguished researcher and co-founder with extensive experience in epidemiology and vector-borne diseases. Currently serving as a Senior Researcher at the University of Copenhagen since August 2018, Carsten also co-founded FaunaPhotonics in January 2014. Prior roles include Senior Researcher at DTU – National Veterinary Institute from November 2017 to August 2018, and Postdoc Researcher at DTU VET from March 2008 to November 2017, where work focused on simulating the spread of paratuberculosis. Carsten's early career involved research assistant positions that included field work and investigations related to Culicoides species. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Epidemiology from DTU VET and a Cand. Scient. in Biology from the University of Copenhagen.
