Briony Thomas

Professor Of Applied Creativity at University of Leeds

Briony Thomas is an Associate Professor of Design Science at the University of Leeds, holding a joint appointment between the School of Mechanical Engineering and the School of Design since October 2004. In addition, Briony serves as the Deputy Director of the Institute of Design, Robotics and Optimisation (iDRO) and has held various roles, including Lecturer in Design and Design Theory. Briony leads cross-Faculty initiatives in shape-based design and manufacture during a secondment at iDRO. Briony also holds an independent position as the Chair of Leeds33 and was an Artist in Residence at the University of York from September 2013 to August 2014. Briony's academic credentials include a PhD in Design Science and a Master's degree in Design Theory from the University of Leeds, along with a Bachelor's degree in Textile Design.
