Bo Miao is an accomplished Assistant Research Scientist at the University of Maryland since March 2020, leading high-intensity laser experiments and managing lab infrastructure while advancing laser technology research. Notably, Bo Miao spearheaded a lab upgrade to achieve 100 tera-Watt peak power and demonstrated the first multi-GeV electron acceleration from an all-optical plasma waveguide during a postdoctoral tenure. Previously, as a Graduate Research Assistant from August 2013 to January 2020, Bo Miao was responsible for the operation and maintenance of a 25 terawatt laser system. Bo Miao holds a PhD in Physics from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of Science and Technology of China.
