Wayne Joseph Kirby

Wayne Joseph Kirby is a distinguished Professor of Music at UNC Asheville since 1983, serving as the Ruth Paddison Distinguished Professor and the Director of the Music Technology Program. Additionally, Wayne Joseph Kirby holds the title of Master Instructor, 5th Dan, in UNCA Taekwon-Do. Previous experience includes a position as Professor of Music at New York University from 1986 to 1987 and serving as Music Director for Sergio Franchi from August 1971 to April 1981. Educational credentials include a Doctor of Arts in Art and Music from New York University (1977-1981), a Master of Music in Electronic Music and Double Bass from Yale University, and a Bachelor of Music in Double Bass from The Juilliard School (1966-1970).
