Janos Kovacs

Janos Kovacs is a Full Professor and researcher at the University of Pécs, Hungary, where experience spans from September 2012 to the present, including roles as Associate Professor and assistant professor. Prior to this, Janos worked as a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna from October 2011 to June 2012. Academic qualifications include a post-doc in Quaternary Geology from the University of Alaska Fairbanks in 2008, a postgrad degree in Geology from Eötvös Loránd University from 2002 to 2004, and a PhD in Earth Sciences (geology) from the University of Pécs, completed between 1999 and 2004. PhD studies in Geology were also undertaken at Universidade do Algarve and the University of Wolverhampton, with a Master of Science in Physical Geography obtained from Janus Pannonius University from 1993 to 1998.

1367. The Hundred Years' War is already in its 30th year, Boccaccio put the final full stop to the end of the Decameron 14 years ago, just in three years the Aztecs are going to create a state in America, and on the 1st of September Louis the Great - the King of Hungary - establishes a university at Pécs with the approval of Pope Urban V. It is one of the largest higher education institutions in Hungary with its 26.000 students and its nine faculties. The University of Pécs offers a broad range of international training and degree programmes, ensuring high-level knowledge-transfer and research.
