Chris Callison-Burch serves as a Professor at the University of Pennsylvania since September 2013, with prior roles as Associate Professor and Assistant Professor. Currently, Chris holds the position of Sponsorship Director at the Association for Computational Linguistics Inc. since July 2020. Chris has also contributed as a Visiting Research Scientist at the Allen Institute for AI from January 2023 to August 2024. Previous leadership roles in the Association for Computational Linguistics include General Chair for ACL 2017 and Program Co-Chair for EMNLP 2015. Chris's academic background includes a PhD in Informatics and a Master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Edinburgh, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Symbolic Systems from Stanford University.
