Asitha Bandaranayake

Asitha Bandaranayake is a Senior Lecturer and Director at the University of Peradeniya since October 2014, responsible for the maintenance, upgrade, and new installation of network facilities and services. Major projects include the design and implementation of a 20-30 year upgrade of the university's wired network and the establishment of a campus-wide Wi-Fi network. Additionally, Asitha serves as Consultant CTO for Lanka Education and Research Network (LEARN) and has previous experience as a Software/QA Engineer III at Cisco, enhancing WebVPN feature testing automation. A Ph.D. in Computer Science & Engineering was earned at the University of Cincinnati, where Asitha also worked as a Research Assistant and UNIX Administrator, developing wireless mesh networking testbeds and maintaining Linux servers. Prior teaching experience includes conducting courses in computer programming and networking at the University of Peradeniya since 2001.
