Shannon Reed

Shannon Reed currently serves as the Director of Undergraduate Studies and a Teaching Associate Professor in the Writing Program at the University of Pittsburgh, where responsibilities include teaching courses in composition, creative writing, and a course on vampires. As a writer, Reed contributes humor to notable publications such as The New Yorker, McSweeney's Internet Tendency, and BuzzFeed Ideas, with essays featured in Vela Magazine, Narratively, BELT, the Billfold, and the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Additional experience includes freelance reviewing for Publisher's Weekly, teaching various English courses at Brooklyn Theatre Arts High School and Stella Maris High School, and writing a column for VisualThesaurus.com. Reed holds an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Pittsburgh, an MA in Educational Theatre/Secondary English from New York University, and a BFA in Theatre with a Writing minor from Otterbein University.
