Haiming Liu

Haiming Liu is the Director of the Centre for Machine Intelligence and an Associate Professor at the University of Southampton since May 2022. Previously, Haiming served as a Senior Lecturer and Lecturer in Computer Science and Technology at the University of Bedfordshire from February 2013 to September 2022, and as a Lecturer in Computing at the University of Central Lancashire from September 2012 to February 2013. Haiming's earlier experience includes roles as a Data/Information Manager, SocialLearn User Experience Developer, and PhD researcher at The Open University from October 2006 to September 2012. Haiming's PhD research focused on user interaction with content-based image search systems, utilizing both quantitative and qualitative analysis methods. Haiming holds a PhD in User Interaction for Multimedia Retrieval from The Open University and an MSc in E-Commerce from the University of Sunderland.
