Alex Yin serves as the Executive Director of Institutional Research. Prior to joining the University of Vermont, Alex was a Senior Planning and Research Associate in the Department of Planning and Institutional Research at The Pennsylvania State University where he supported the institutional research, planning, and strategic decision-making needs of the institution.
He has expertise and experience in leading and supporting university-wide efforts including General Education assessment, improving retention and graduation rates, decreasing time to degree, and the collection and reporting of post-graduation outcomes. Alex has strong technical and statistical skills; a vision for an adaptable and proactive Office of Institutional Research; and a commitment to producing sustainable, timely, reliable, and valid data analysis that creates and promotes a culture of data-driven decision-making.
