Rob Jones

Rob Jones, PMP, is an experienced professional in research security and national defense, currently serving as the Chief Research Security Officer at the University of Virginia since January 2014, where responsibilities include providing expertise in national security and managing research data security. Previous roles at the University include Director of National Security Programs and Acting Director of the Applied Research Institute, facilitating connections between the university and defense communities. Prior to his tenure at the University of Virginia, Rob held various engineering and management positions at companies such as Centridian Consulting, SPARTA, SRC, Hughes Network Systems, and Motorola, contributing to projects in hardware engineering, communications systems, and program management. Rob holds a Master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Virginia.
