Mr. Omer Shaheen has over 18 years of experience in the field of psychology and mental health, currently serving in the Health Department of UNRWA since December 2005. Mr. Shaheen has played a pivotal role in designing the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) program, including developing operational procedures and training medical staff for case detection and referrals. As a psychologist, Mr. Shaheen has trained counselors in diagnosing mental disorders, assessing psychological conditions, and employing cognitive-behavioral therapy. Additionally, Mr. Shaheen supervises the work of counselors at UNRWA clinics and provides psychotherapy for clients facing mental health challenges. Mr. Shaheen holds a master's degree in psychology from iugaza, obtained between 1999 and 2003.
