Lucy Coolidge Trout has extensive legal experience, currently serving as the Acting Secretary and Deputy Secretary of the Board of Governors at the United States Postal Service since October 2016. Previous roles include Labor Attorney and Staff Counsel/Hearing Officer with the organization. Trout's legal career began with clerkships at the United States District Court and the United States Bankruptcy Court in Mississippi. Additional internships were completed at various esteemed institutions, including the American Bankruptcy Institute and the Office of U.S. Senator Edward Kennedy. Educational qualifications include a Juris Doctor from the University of Mississippi School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in History and French from Rhodes College, supplemented by studies at St. John's College, Oxford University, and the Eurocentre Institute.
