Peter Werkhoven

Peter Werkhoven is a highly accomplished chief scientist and executive at TNO, with extensive experience in research and development forecasting, artificial intelligence, and system innovation. Since March 1994, Peter has held various leadership roles at TNO, including Chief Scientific Officer and acting Chief Executive Officer, contributing to a multidisciplinary innovation strategy and managing significant annual budgets. In addition to leadership at TNO, Peter is a Full Professor at Utrecht University, specializing in multimodal interaction in virtual environments, and previously served as a Full Professor at the University of Amsterdam. Peter has a rich academic background, holding a PhD in Physics from Utrecht University, and has been involved in foundational research programs in multimedia and human-machine interaction, reflecting a strong commitment to advancing scientific inquiry and collaboration in applied research.
