Sophie began their career in 2010 at OpenBet Ltd, where they held various roles including Software Developer, Senior Software Developer, and Development Lead. During this time, they gained experience in full-stack web development, project management, and promoting agile work practices.
In 2018, Sophie transitioned to Vamp, where they started as a Software Engineer and quickly progressed to become the Technical Lead. In this role, they managed and improved the back end team, designed and maintained the application server and database, and contributed to the development of new features. Sophie later became the Vice President of Engineering, responsible for leading the engineering team and driving initiatives such as automating deployments.

Sophie Troy's education history begins in 2003 when they enrolled at the University of Sydney. Sophie pursued a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree and a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) degree, both of which they completed in 2007. Afterward, in 2009, Sophie attended the University of Sydney again, but this time to obtain a Master of Information Technology degree.
In addition to their formal education, Sophie also obtained two additional certifications. In April 2018, they completed "Build Front-End Web Apps from Scratch" certification from Codecademy. Furthermore, in February 2017, Sophie became a Certified Scrum Master through Scrum Alliance.
